Bill Pay Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I accidently enter an incorrect account number?
If the billing address is correct, but the account number is not, the payee may hold onto the payment until they can reconcile which account the payment belongs to and apply the payment much later than you intended. You may get a late fee from your payee.
What happens if the billing address is entered incorrectly?
The payment will probably not arrive at the payee and will not be applied. If the payee doesn't receive your payment (on payments that are sent by check through bill pay), the money won't be drafted from your account, but you will be responsible for any late fees charged by your payee. Make sure you double check all the information you enter: account number, address, and payment amount.
Can I determine when I make my payments and how much I pay?
You determine the amount of all of your bill payments. You set the dates they are made. Bill Pay does not make those decisions or make payments without you telling it when and for how much. You can pay each of them each time you receive a bill, or you can set up automatic payments called recurring payments.
When should I use the recurring payment feature?
Recurring payments are useful for bills that are always the same amount every month, like a car payment. You can determine how many months you want the payment made, and the last month for Bill Pay to make it. Or you can also set Bill Pay to make that same payment indefinitely.
