If you receive a suspicious email, please IMMEDIATELY forward it to ScamAlerts@mymax.com and call: 334-215-4753 and alert a MAX Loss Prevention Specialist. We will never ask for your account information or personal information over email. Any such attempt should be treated as fraud and reported to MAX immediately so we may assist in protecting your account information. To help further protect yourself from internet fraud, never reply to any emails or pop-ups that request your account and/or personal information and be sure to use updated antivirus software. MAX was notified of a text messaging scam that was sent to members and non-members. The text states that the recipient's account access has been blocked and he/she must call to unblock the account.
Below is the text message's contents:
"Dear MAX Credit Member.
We regret to inform you that we had to lock your bank access. Please call 670082 to restore your bank account"

MAX was notified of another email scam sent to both members and
non-members. The fraudulent email asks the recipient to participate in
a survey and states that the he/she will be rewarded $100 for
participating. Below is an example of the email contents:
"Subject: Last Warning Before Account Removal
Dear Customer,
CONGRATULATIONS!
You have been chosen by Max Federal Credit Union online department to
take part in our quick and easy reward survey. In return we will credit 100$ to your account - Just for your time!
Helping us better understand how our customers feel, benefits everyone.
With the information collected we can decide to direct a number of
changes to improve and expand our online services.
The information you provide us is all non-sensitive and anonymous - No
part of it is handed down to any third party groups.
It will be stored in our secure database for maximum of 3 days while we
process the results of this nationwide survey.
We kindly ask you to spare two minutes of your time in taking part with
this unique offer!

MAX was notified of another email scam sent to both members and non-members, prompting them to update their account information by calling a fraudulent phone number. Below is an example of the email contents:
"Subject: Last Warning Before Account Removal
Dear Michael Thornell,
MAX Community Credit Union temporarily suspended your account.
Reason: Billing failure.
We require you to complete an account update so we can unlock your account.
You must reactivate your account immediately, or you won't be able to use your cards
again.
To start the update process call us now on our service number : (615)-206-7414
Once you have completed the update, we will send you an email notifying
that your account is available again. After that you can access your account at
any time.
The information provided will be treated in confidence and stored in our secure database.
If you fail to provide information about your account you ll discover that your
account has been automatically deleted from MAXFCU database.

MAX has been notified that fraudulent text messages are being received by members and non-members requesting they call to validate their online banking information. MAX will never send text messages asking you to validate any information regarding your MAX account. If you receive a text message please do not respond.
