You shouldn’t have to wade through mountains of information to find the financial services that are right for you. We’ve put them all together in our simple MAX 101 Student Financial Kit. WHAT IS A CREDIT UNION?
MAX is your community credit union! A credit union is a non profit organization owned by its members, for its members. Low cost services and better rates are just two examples of the advantages credit unions offer. MAX offers these advantages and much more by serving everyone working, living or going to school in the tri-county community!
STUDENT LOANS
MAX’s Student Loan program provides you with the highest quality service. Accelerated (pre-approved) loan processing is through the Federal Family Education Loan (FFEL) Program. Let your college know that your preferred lender is MAX, Your Community Credit Union, and give them our Lender Code Number, 813317. We provide loan origination, guarantee and disbursement services through our partnership with the Kentucky Higher Education Assistance Authority (KHEAA). STUDENT CHECKING
Checking at MAX gives you more flexibility. MAX offers many options allowing you to customize your checking to the way you live. Two of our favorites for students are listed here but, you can find a complete list here. Our Student Chek is a free checking account with no minimum balance requirements and no “per transaction” charge. All you need to open this account is $50. The extra-low monthly service fee is waived for all students aged 14-22. This exemption expires on your 23rd birthday or when your studies cease.
MAX CHEKCARD®
MAX ChekCard does the writing for you! If you’re tired of writing checks and showing I.D.s, let the MAX ChekCard do the work for you. The MAX ChekCard is free for qualified members or students.
 It’s accepted anywhere that accepts VISA, but it’s not a credit card – it’s a plastic check! Purchases are deducted from your MAX checking account the same way they are when you write a check. The best advantage is there is no monthly fee and no annual fee with the MAX ChekCard. Your MAX ChekCard also doubles as an ATM card!
